About Us
The Southeastern Drainage Office is a unique, nonprofit organization that was established in 1994 for the dedicated purpose of helping North Carolina Drainage Districts with their management. We are the only organization of its type in North Carolina. The office operates under the guidance of PL-566 and General Statute 156.
Under our umbrella, there are over thirteen drainage districts covering more than 18,350 parcels of land and approximately 452 miles of canals. Our efforts span over thirteen counties throughout North Carolina, including Beaufort, Pitt, Greene, Martin, Edgecombe, Lenoir, Craven, Jones, Gates, Chowan, Perquimans, and Wayne.
